Our Accomplishments in 2009

  • Hosted regular 1st Sunday dance parties with mini-lessons and 3rd Sunday parties with featured performers.
  • Sponsored an exciting evening of dancing with the nationally acclaimed Bobby Layne Orchestra. Over 180 attendees!
  • Offered "Introduction to Ballroom Dance" course of 5 weekly one-hour classes. Three sections were taught by Patti Smith and Brenda Dunagan with a total of 45 students.
  • Our Formation Dance Team performed for Day of Dance for Health, Sounds of Broadway, the Asian American Festival, Salute to the USO , the Conference on Aging, and the New Mexico State Fair.
  • Coordinated "Afternoon of Dance" at Cottonwood Mall to celebrate National Ballroom Dance Week. Event featured dance demos, mini-lessons, and displays by local studios.
  • Sponsored our 4th annual Jack & Jill dance competition using a "Fred and Ginger Night" theme. Awarded cash prizes to the top 3 couples: list names here.
  • Held our 3rd annual Dinner Dance, "Some Enchanted Evening, "an elegant and joyous affair with music by the Roger Burns Trio and dinner catered by Scarpa's.
