Join us for an afternoon delight this Sunday, Sept. 6, as USA Dance resumes its afternoon dance schedule.
Our dances return to the traditional time of 3 – 5 p.m., with lessons beforehand.

The line dance lesson will start at 1:45 p.m. The main lessons, for beginners and intermediate/ advanced dancers, kicks off at 2:15 p.m.

Sunday’s featured dance is foxtrot. Rosie Harper will teach a foxtrot line dance, and Beth Ciccone will teach the beginners lesson.

Next Sunday’s dance features one of our funnest events of the year … the Jack & Jill competition.

We’ll pair leaders (Jacks) and followers (Jills) at random. The newly constituted couples will then dance an East Coast Swing, waltz, and cha cha.Tyler Ryan — who will also teach our main lesson — and Cristel Pike will judge the contest and choose the top couples.

Wasn’t that a time! Thanks to everyone who came to our 20th Anniversary Dance earlier this month, featuring the High Desert Big Band.

Our next dance, at the spacious, air-conditioned Albuquerque Square Dance Center, is Sunday, Aug. 2 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Come early for the lessons: Line dance at 5:15 p.m., and the beginner and intermediate/advanced lessons at 5:45 p.m.All lessons will focus on hustle. Rosie Harper will lead the line dance and beginner lessons.

Patti Smith, owner of CSP Dance Studios, will teach the intermediate/advanced hustle lesson.

Doug McClellan is the DJ, and will play favorites alongside some new ballroom and Latin tunes.

This year marks our 20th anniversary, and we are celebrating in style. Join us for our Birthday Bash this Sunday evening, July 19, featuring the live music of the High Desert Big Band!

We’ve tweaked the time of the dance to 6 – 8:30 p.m. There will be no lessons or performances. Guest DJ Lynn Horton will play dance music in-between band sets.

We will offer light refreshments and door prizes, and we’ll do some line dances when the band is on break.

Admission for this special dance is $15 for USA Dance members, dance instructors, and students with ID, and $20 for others.

Please join us as we commemorate two big birthdays this month at USA Dance of North Central New Mexico.

At our Red, White & Blue dance this Sunday, July 5, we tip our hat to America’s 250th birthday — and honor the melting pot that is American music.

Then, on July 19, we celebrate our chapter’s 20th anniversary with a special dance featuring live music by the High Desert Big Band (see more details below).

It’s never too late to enjoy prom! No matter how distant your high school years may be, relive them at our Prom Night dance this Sunday, May 17.

The dance is 3 – 5 p.m. 

Doug McClellan will DJ, and is taking requests for your favorite prom songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond! Please email your requests to info@usadancenm.org.

We’ll play as many requests as possible (and thanks for everyone who has already sent theirs in), while ensuring the playlist is balanced across decades and dance styles … but if you like swing and hustle, this is your dance!

Come early for our lessons, all of which are included in your admission. All lessons will be waltz.
