Celebrate Independence Day … Sunday at USA Dance!
Get ‘back to basics’ with free assisted coaching before the dance

Celebrate Independence Day at our next dance, this Sunday, July 6. Wear red, white, and blue, and set off some dance floor fireworks!
The dance is 3 – 5 p.m. Rosa Delgadillo Burt will teach a Standard (Slow) Foxtrot lesson at 2:15 p.m.
DJ Perry Pedersen has put together an all-request playlist for Sunday’s dance, including songs for the waterfall. Perry, a member of our chapter’s board of directors, oversees the request jar on the resource table by the kitchen. Dancers are invited to submit song requests for upcoming dances.
Admission is free for USA Dance members and $10 for others. Our venue is the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins St. NE.
Back to Basics. Also Sunday, we are inaugurating a new “Back to Basics” assisted practice and coaching session at 1:30 p.m. These free, 30-minute sessions are for beginners and less-experienced dancers who seek coaching from more experienced dancers in an informal environment. Dancers who just want to practice on our jumbo-sized dance floor are also welcome.
Debra Williams, chapter vice president, will serve as Sunday’s session coach and will focus on waltz fundamentals.
