It’s been a long cold lonely winter, as the Beatles famously sang, but the sun is finally shining. As public activities begin to resume in New Mexico, we at USA Dance of North Central New Mexico are delighted to announce our first dance in more than a year. It will be 7 – 9 p.m. on Friday, June 18.

Our venue will be Enchantment Dancing, 337 San Pedro Dr. NE. Enchantment owner Chip Hindi will teach a group lesson at 6:15 p.m., and dancing will start at 7 p.m.

DeAnn Eaton

“After a long, Covid-induced break from dancing, it’s good to see New Mexico resume activities again which allow us to dance,” said DeAnn Eaton, chapter president (pictured). “And best of all: There will be no admission fee — this will be a free dance!” All non-vaccinated dancers should wear masks at the party, while masks will be optional for vaccinated dancers. Of course, dancers should be prepared to accept any risks associated with person-to-person contact.

“We are all very sensitive to following the state’s mandates for Covid-safe practice, so please check the state’s website at https://cv.nmhealth.org. It’s up to each and every one of us to keep ourselves and our fellow dancers safe,” DeAnn said. “On behalf of the board and myself, we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor again!”

We’ll send out another email with more details closer to the date, but for now please mark June 18 on your calendars. Sun, sun, sun, here it comes!
