The dance is 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. Michiko Sibley teaches a samba lesson at 2:15 p.m. Our venue is the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins St. NE. Andy Nelson will DJ.

Admission is free for USA Dance members and $10 for others.

See you on the dance floor!

Junior Competitors. The Dance Station Junior Competitors range in age from 7 to 13 and are led by instructor Mary Miller. They are preparing to compete at the Dance Fiesta competition later next week in Albuquerque. Mary and Dance Station owner Lawrence Black will also perform a tango.

The young dancers (two of them pictured) have spent several weeks raising money to help underwrite their competition costs. They have just about reached their goal of $5,000, and would welcome any additional donations from USA Dance.

If you know any kids who like to dance — a grandchild, a niece or nephew, or a neighbor — why not bring them on Sunday? Children are always free at USA Dance, and they may get inspired.

If the shoe fits … We’re also repeating our dance shoe sale. Please donate your gently used dance shoes on Sunday. And if a pair fits your fancy (and your feet), please take them in exchange for a donation. All proceeds benefit our chapter.
