Members get in free … Sunday at USA Dance!

Everett Farr and Brenda Dunagan Lamon

Sunday (Dec. 17) is a Member Appreciation Dance at USA Dance, which means members get in free for our last dance of 2023.

Brenda Dunagan Lamon will teach a foxtrot lesson at 2:15 p.m., and will also perform with Everett Farr.

The dance is 3 – 5 p.m. Andy Nelson will DJ. Our venue is the spacious Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins St. NE.

Admission is free for USA Dance members and $10 for others. If you’re not a member, you can sign up online or in person at the dance — and save over the next year. We offer free dances for members every quarter, which by itself is enough to pay for a $35 Social Adult Dancer membership.

Hellos and goodbyes. We elected four new board members at our last dance (see below). But we’d also like to thank our retiring board members who will be stepping down after this dance: DeAnn Eaton, our president; Jewel Paur, Janis Pullen, and Anna Watkins. Remaining on the board through 2024 are John Cilke, Rosie Harper, Annie Irizari, and Debra Williams. See you on the dance floor!

New board members. We elected four new board members by acclamation at our last dance. Their 2-year terms begin Jan. 1. They are (from left) Perry Pedersen, Ruth Horowitz, Tom Fanning, and Laurel Fanning, and were introduced by outgoing president DeAnn Eaton. (Thanks to Craig Levy for the photo.)
