Members get in free … Sunday at USA Dance
Members get in free at the next USA Dance social dance party: 3 – 5 p.m. this Sunday, March 17, at the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins St. NE. We’re also celebrating our 18th anniversary — see more in our accompanying post.
Our lesson, at 2:15 p.m., is East Coast Swing, taught by Lawrence Black of Dance Station. Perry Pedersen will DJ. Admission is free for USA Dance members and $10 for others. We host these Member Appreciation Dances every quarter. We also also hosting another shoe swap on Sunday. Please bring your gently used dance shoes to the dance, or see if you can find a pair that fits you.
Seeking Jacks and Jills. Sign up for our Jack & Jill dance contest on April 7. We’ll pair leaders (Jacks) and followers (Jills) at random, and ask our couples to dance a rumba, cha cha, East Coast Swing, and waltz. Our judges — Rosa Delgadillo Burt of Abracadabra Ballroom Dance Co., and Michiko Sibley, formerly of Arthur Murray — will choose the winners.
