Enter our Jack & Jill contest … Sunday at USA Dance!

NOTE: Because of a scheduling conflict, we will NOT have a guided practice session on Sunday but will start with the 2:15 p.m. lesson. Guided practice will return for the Oct. 5 dance.

Show off your swing chops and partnership skills at our Jack & Jill competition this Sunday, Sept. 21, at USA Dance. We’ll pair leaders and followers at random. The insta-couples will be judged on dancing an East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and Hustle. Winners get a trophy and bragging rights!

Come early for a smooth waltz lesson, taught by Christina Harris. The dance is 3 – 5 p.m. Andy Nelson will DJ.

Admission is $5 for USA Dance members and $10 for others.

Dance Fiesta returns. Many of your fellow USA Dancers will compete in Dance Fiesta, Albuquerque’s oldest Country-Western and ballroom competition, from Sept. 25 – 28. Rhythm, Latin, and Club dances kick things off on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26, with Standard and Smooth ballroom events on Friday, Sept. 27. Country-Western and other styles will fill out the week and weekend.

The venue is the Crowne Plaza Albuquerque, 1901 University Blvd NE.

For non-competitors, Dance Fiesta also offers social dances and a full schedule of workshops. And you are welcome to cheer for your favorite couples in the ballroom. Click on the logo to go to the Dance Fiesta website for the event schedule.

Social Dance Celebration. Our parent organization, USA Dance, is hosting its first-ever Nationals Social Dance Celebration on March 27-29, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The celebration will take place in conjunction with USA Dance Nationals, the premiere U.S. DanceSport competition for amateur dancers.

“This will be the perfect opportunity to meet new dancers, meet your national board members, enjoy the national championships, participate in workshops, and have a great weekend getaway,” said Ken Pandozzi, vice president of social dance for USA Dance.
