Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Big changes are coming to USA Dance! You spoke; the board listened!
You asked for more line dances (which don’t rely on leaders and followers). And you wanted lessons for intermediate and advanced dancers as well as beginners.
So, starting in March, we are introducing line dance lessons at each dance, followed by simultaneous dance lessons — one for beginners and one for intermediate and advanced dancers.

Help us bling in the New Year at our next dance, 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4 — and help make Rosie Harper’s resolution come true:
“My dream for the new year is to see more people happily dancing, and fewer people unhappily sitting. Our board is working on ideas to that end,” said Rosie, president of our chapter’s board. “Meanwhile, let’s make this our motto for 2026: Focus on the good and praise it. Let‘s bling in the New Year with happy feet on the dance floor, and happy smiles on our faces!”

It’s our last dance of the year, so help us send 2025 off in style!
Our dance is 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. Our venue is the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins St. NE.
Come early for our Back to Basics assisted practice session at 1:30 p.m., led by Debra Williams.
Our lesson at 2:15 p.m. is waltz, taught by Brenda Lamon. And don’t miss a waltz performance by Rosie Harper and Joseph Chavez. Perry Pedersen will DJ.

What kinds of dance lessons would you like to take at USA Dance? Would you prefer evening dances in the summer?
We are conducting a survey of our dancers, and we encourage you to spend a few minutes to give us your thoughts. Your responses will help us plan for the coming year. The survey includes space to give feedback, in your own words, to the USA Dance board.

Celebrate the season at our USA Dance Holiday Party this Saturday night, Dec. 6, from 7 – 9 p.m.
This dance will be at a different venue the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St. NE. There will be no lesson or Back to Basics session, but there will be a bolero and cha cha performance by the CSP Dance Studios Bronze Rhythm Team. Andy Nelson will be our DJ.
